Aisha Jamila is an American actress best known for her roles in the television shows The Shield and True Blood. Bachchan became the new queen of Bollywood due to her role of the role in Devdas 2002, one of the most acclaimed Bollywood film. It also was the first Bollywood film to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Chokher (2002) was a dramatic version of the novel by Rabindranath Tagore (2003) received much acclaim. Bachchan was the first Indian actor to be a part of the jury for Cannes Film Festival during the same year. Bachchan played featured in Gurinder Chedha's Bride and Prejudice. This ballet and musical adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is directed by Gurinder. Bachchan brought both her star-power as well as her beautiful appearance to her first major English film. In 2006, she returned to Bollywood with her hit film Dhoom: 2 before releasing Provoked: The True Story (2006). She got married Abhishek Bachchan, a co-star, who is the daughter of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. This marriage brought two of India's most prominent individuals in one place.
